Sightseeing

Attempts began to salvage a recent wreck near Tofino, Vancouver Island B.C.

    Just a happy harbor tug.
    Though he tried and he tried
    He couldn't pry his own butt
    Off the sandbank...

  2. It is in fact a tugboat! They brought in a big crane on a barge. We didn't stay long enough to see how successful they were at retrieving it. The sad story is that the pilot mistook the markers in the water and, instead of navigating safely between the sandbank and a submerged rocky sea floor, ran into the rock. Locals were concerned with the potential for fuel spills, and the fact that insurance wouldn't cover the interior of the tug. No telling what will happen to the owner, the pilot, and the tug in the long run.
